Creating a Private Oasis With
Landscape Design for Ponds

There's no better time than the early spring months to begin thinking about adding the understated elegance of a pond or similar water feature to your outdoor living space. After being cooped up indoors all winter, people are usually anxious to finally get out and enjoy their surroundings beneath the warming sun, and water features help to create a relaxing, almost ethereal environment in which to enjoy the unrivaled beauty of the outdoors and add far more than mere visual appeal to your property.

Landscape design for ponds involves a myriad of ideas and options to choose from as well as plenty of careful planning and consideration to ensure what you've envisioned becomes reality. To begin, you'll want to consider ground conditions in terms of drainage and choose a level location that won't be prone to flooding. Next, you must decide upon a size, depth and shape for your pond based on different factors such as your available space, the existing landscape, and of course, your personal preferences.

Some of the other many important decisions include settling on a purpose for your pond, for example, will it be a home for colorful fish, or would you rather add extras like plants or a fountain?

Other necessary choices include deciding on what materials to use for creating the pond itself and learning which types of plant life will fare best. But don't become overwhelmed with all the many details as you can always turn to us for help when it comes to finding free referrals and consultations within our vast network of landscape professionals, all of which are experienced in the world of landscape design for ponds and a variety of interesting water features.
