Understanding Your Landscape Design Style
Before starting any landscaping project it's always important to decide upon a landscape design style that not only reflects your true personality and taste, but one that also complements your home and its existing architectural style, both inside and out.
Creating a perfect sense of unity between the home and the garden is a feat that landscapers and designers everywhere strive to achieve, and by learning more about the many styles commonly used today, you can also be well versed when it comes to knowing what looks the absolute best for your home.
Some popular choices include the formal style of landscaping that relies on even, straight lines, or alternately, an informal style with its more relaxed feel and irregular shapes and patterns. Or, for a southwestern feel or a completely natural look, try either the desert or xeriscape styles of landscaping design and utilize a variety of colorful and drought tolerant plants, flowers, and shrubbery to create your own backyard oasis.
Remember that you're never set on one distinct idea as you can always combine two or more styles, adding or subtracting elements as necessary, to create your own unique style of landscape design. If you're having trouble identifying or creating your own landscape design style that complements your home and also your personality, let us know so we can put you in touch with some of the many professional landscapers and contractors in our network who offer complimentary consultations and expert advice.
