The Simple Elegance of Estate
Landscape Design

Estate landscape design, and the incredible amount of different variables and accessories to consider, requires an extensive amount of preparation and planning. The sheer number of choices of possible accents like pergolas, topiaries, greenhouses, sculptures and statues, and water features, just to name a few, are simply mind boggling.

One rather impressive design element of luxury estates are the strategic planting and pruning of evergreens, hedges, trees, and other plant life that combine to create a fluid pattern or design that's especially breathtaking when viewed from an aerial standpoint. Hardscape design, generally referring to walkways and driveways, is yet another integral part of estate landscape design planning not only in terms of curb appeal, but for functionality as well.

Many estates are partly designed with entertaining in mind and will therefore require ample parking space and plenty of room for guests to walk around the grounds. Before the weather turns colder, now's the perfect time to think about making changes to your home's hardscape design, such as adding extra parking areas, installing a circular driveway, or adding paved terraces near entryways.

And of course, you'll have to choose from one of many paving materials of the highest quality, like limestone, slate, flagstone, and a variety of bricks and other stones. Each of these materials has its benefits and possible drawbacks depending on what it's being used for, and there are combinations of materials to be had as well.
