Back in the 1920s when Monrovia Horticultural Craftsmen decided to start growing plants in containers, it seemed like a revolutionary idea. Today they produce more than 2,200 varieties of plants for the nursery industry in many locations across the U.S. They also have one of the best Plant Library Search Engines out there.

Their huge data base system is easy to use, has lots of features and provides a ton of information like plant benefits, care instructions, plant lore and more. It also has a convenient print out feature. Highly recommended!

Botanical Garden


The Huntington Botanical Gardens began development in a town just outside Los Angeles in 1903 by the great Henry Huntington. Today the gardens span nearly 120 acres with sweeping lawns and breath taking views interspersed with statuary, tempiettos, and benches for setting.

There are about 15,000 kinds of plants from all over the world and they make up the botanical collections and are incorporated into a series of theme gardens. Put this one on your list.
